Marriage Ministry Team

We kick off the class with introductions, an overview of the course, and a discussion of expectations. This session sets the stage for the journey ahead and helps couples connect with each other and with the teaching team.

Jon and Beth Weber walk couples through the essentials of healthy communication — covering communication styles and levels, gender differences, and practical tools for empathetic listening.

Dave and Betty Paul

Dave and Betty Paul guide couples through three interconnected topics for deepening connection: understanding your core personality type (Charger, Outgoing, Responsible, or Easy-Going), exploring how your Family of Origin shapes who you are, and discovering Gary Chapman's 5 Love Languages to learn how you and your spouse best give and receive love.

Dave and Betty Paul cover two important topics in this session. First, they walk couples through practical tools for resolving conflict and managing anger — distinguishing between normal and deep conflict, exploring five common patterns of confrontation, introducing the STEP UP framework for problem-solving, and presenting options for de-escalating anger in the moment, all grounded in the call to choose forgiveness and pursue oneness in marriage. Second, they address parenting from a biblical perspective, contrasting secular and Christ-centered approaches, exploring parents as the single greatest influence in a child's life, and covering spiritual development, tech use, 10 actions kids need from parents, and the 5 C's for raising children with Confidence, Character, Convictions, Compassion, and Competence.

Jon and Beth Weber explore the Biblical foundation for marriage roles and responsibilities. This session examines God's design for marriage relationships, the significance of gender differences, and how couples can embrace their unique roles while working together as a unified team. Drawing from Scripture, participants will gain insights into building a marriage rooted in Biblical principles of love, submission, and mutual respect.

Bill and Jenn Deitrick

Bill and Jenn Deitrick guide couples through a Biblical perspective on sexual intimacy within marriage. This session covers the foundations for a healthy sexual relationship, practical communication and connection strategies, and how physical intimacy strengthens the spiritual and emotional bond between spouses. Participants will gain insights, resources, and homework to enhance intimacy in their marriage.

Bill and Jenn Deitrick

Bill and Jenn Deitrick guide couples through biblical principles and practical strategies for managing finances together. This session covers budgeting basics, the four rules of effective budgeting, financial planning, resource management, and how couples can build wealth and security as a team. Participants will gain actionable tools and insights to align their finances with their marriage goals and values.

This session equips couples with practical tools to celebrate each other's strengths, overcome challenges, and create a shared vision for their marriage. Through biblical principles and actionable exercises, couples will learn how to set and pursue goals that strengthen their bond and align with their spiritual values.
